Amazing dresses

So while I was looking for inspiration for dresses, I found this:

Even though this dress looks like something for halloween rather then a wedding, the method for making it could lead to a future fashion trend.
The silk is made from genetically engineered silk worms. Scientists have tweeked the worms silk producing process to create florescent coloured silk.
So far this process has been used to create stand out suits and ties, but now wedding dress designer Yumi Katsura has creating this show stopping piece.

This has got me thinking about my chosen wedding dress ( which is not white ) and other unusual dress designs:

Celebrate the different:

Simple little dress curtacy of Etsy seller Charmbridge.
This stunning Aline black tulle dress would be perfect in a shabby chic wedding, for a simple clean look.

It seems that Japanese brides have all the fun!
Check out this site for more outstandingly different dresses.
Sugar Kei

The green colour just pops with this transitional ball gown with a twist.

A "sheepish" bride from Lincoln had an unusual idea for her dress, which stemmed from rural transitions and a passion to promote alternative materials.

I am usually very disheartened at 'shearing time' seeing our beautiful clippings of lustrous locks bagged and practically given to the wool board! I have consequently set out on a mission to prove that wool is still a wonderful commodity to be celebrated, and what better way to celebrate it than on our own wedding day.

Hevs and Gazs TOP TEN geeky wedding rings

Like some men, my fiance wasn't too taken by the look of white gold or silver, ( I have never fancied the traditional gold rings) so I have been trying to find something more to his taste.

Being a bit on the geeky side (and planning a super hero wedding), we are looking for rings that show our personalities.

SO HERE IS HEVS AND GAZ'S TOP TEN GEEKY WEDDING RINGS:

10.

The Transformer Decepticon diamond ring.
This is fantastic, one lucky girl from Deviant Art was presented with this amazing engagement ring designed for her by her fiance. Lucky Girl!

5.

Half way there...

The Stargate ring

This has to be one of the coolest rings out there... the rings actually spin!

4.

Sun Dial ring

Apparently who needs a watch when we have the sun? As a novelty, this ring is well crafted and looks like a lost ancient relic. Indian Jones fans should be all over this.
The rings actually turn allowing the ring to be adjusted and record the time using the sun.

Super hero rings

For the perfect superhero wedding why not fly in with one of these:

2.

Assassins creed ring

This is the ring my fella is dying for at the moment. He loves the game Assassins creed and is planning on getting the symbol tattooed on his arm too.

1.

Finally number 1! It had to go to the Tri Force ring from Legend of Zelda

These stunning two toned rings were created by http://zsoltszekely.com/333233/rings/
Not only are they simplistic and well crafted, they include "Its dangerous to go alone" inscribed on the inside, so sweet!

We are closer to deciding on our wing designs, we have agreed on a metal, Palladium. I wanted it because it  is the cheaper substitute to platinum, while still being strong and durable... he wanted it because it is the element Tony Stark (Iron man) uses in his chest piece... well at least we agreed.

Alternative wedding rings

I thought I would start with a collection of alternative wedding rings as inspiration for you other engaged couples out there.

I have been thinking for a while about what rings to get... I'm still no closer to deciding....

I found this piercing ring idea at :
http://blog.freshtrends.com/alternative-wedding-rings/

for those who love body piercing why not have a beautiful ring attached to the finger.
I also love the tattooed ring idea on this blog, which is something me and my other half are thinking of having done under our rings.

For something a little more personal, why not have your finger prints moulded onto the inner side of the rings?

These two finger rings can be purchased and personalised at http://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/MerCurios

This bar code ring is created by Pippa Knowles and can be found at http://heartgalleryblog.wordpress.com/2011/08/.

For the groom who may want something a bit darker and more durable then gold or silver, why not try alternative metals:

Just some of the many ideas,
